A&M v. Bama Pt 1

George and I have always loved going to A&M games together. Its our thing, and we've done it since the weekend after we got married. :) How exciting for us that the biggest game of the year for all of college football was on our anniversary!

We headed out on our trip on Friday. We made sure that our car was appropriately dressed for the occasion :)

The drive into the promised land AKA College Station wasn't as congested as we thought it would be, but once we hit Hwy 6 traffic was all backed up - that made it even more exciting. We checked into our lodging for the weekend (not a positive experience, so I'll move on quickly) and freshened up a bit for our anniversary date.

Yes, friends - that's Chicken Fried Bacon! With a side of Cream Gravy!

George has been begging to take me to Sodolaks in Snook for a very long time now. Since everything in College Station was going to be crazy this was the perfect opportunity. First up: Chicken Fried Bacon. My-lanta it was fabulous, but for real - I could only eat one! Next up was my salad. It started out like any other salad, iceberg lettuce, a few red onion slices and a few tomato slices with a hearty serving of ranch. But it wasn't just any ranch. It was the best ranch dressing I have ever had in my entire life! Honest to goodness I could have drank it. I asked for the recipe, and she said they didn't give it out but gave me a whole bowl to take home. So, if any of you out there in the interwebs think you have the recipe I will GLADLY take it! For our entrees, George had ordered the steak and I had ordered the small chicken fried steak (it wasn't small at all). I can't tell you much other that it was good... at this point I was still hung up over the ranch.

After we were so stuffed we were nearing the necessity of a Hoveround, we headed back to our hotel for a little nap before midnight yell. This is our second midnight yell of the year and man we are getting waaaaay to old. We were so tired we could barely walk and I can place bets that I was either the only or one of the very few pregnant ones there. We met up with my sister and headed in. Despite there being 50,000 plus people in attendance, we headed straight to our traditional spot and had a great time. I know WE were ready to BTHObama!

Day 2 coming soon!
